It was a great moment for me and my students as I resumed teaching on the first day of the new academic session at Origbo Community High School, Ipetumodu, today, 11th day of October, 2021. Interestingly, the day coincided with the International Day of the Girl.
I resumed at 7:15am and joined the staff and students on the assembly ground by 7:30am. I had 20minutes inspirational talk with the students on the purpose of education and how to get their priorities right. My speech was aimed at boosting their self-confidence and inspire them to perform better in the new academic session and pursue excellence in life.
More importantly, I celebrated all our girls and charged them to be determined to break barriers and overcome the challenges confronting the girĺ child and humanity at large.
My first subject of the session was civic education and the class was quite interactive. The students were so engaging and willing to learn. They really made my day and I enjoyed every second spent with them.
I appreciated the commitments and sacrifices of the teachers towards providing quality and functional education in our constituency.
Happy International Day of the Girl to all our beautiful girls and Happy resumption to all our great students.
