‘Tunde Goes To Teach @ Yakooyo Community Government Middle School, Ife North Local Government.

Yakooyo Community Government Middle School 0

Today, 16th of October, 2019.

I resumed at 7:30AM with a motivational engagement with the students on the assembly ground. I charged them on the need to embrace education and get more serious. I shared my story as a kid with them and encouraged them to make up their minds to succeed as well.

“If Yakooyo can produce a Chief of Army Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at a time – our father, General Alani Akinrinade, there are no barriers to what you can become or achieve in life with good education and determination to succeed.” We rounded up the session with a promise from the kids to be the best in their studies and be of high moral values.

I later had about an hour lecture with the grade 9 (JSS 3) students and it was quite an amazing experience. My students are very smart and willing to learn. They are simply the best! They asked me intelligent questions and gave brilliant answers to my questions as well.

I had about 30minutes interactive session with the staffs and I must commend the principal and teachers of the school for doing a great job. I am particularly impressed with their efforts to make schooling attractive to our kids.

Worthy of note is a young grade 7 (JSS1) student who I singled out for her impressive oratory skill.

The Chairman of Ife North Local Government Chairman, Mr Taiwo Orosanya, Vice chairman – Ayoola Adeyeba, other councillors, Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Henry Maxwell, the Director of Middle Schools in Osun, Mrs. Arinola Kikelomo , Engr. Kola Anwo, the community stakeholder, lead by Mr. Bankole Akinrinade all joined us in discussing how best to work with the schools to give quality education our children.

It was indeed another fulfilling day and I thank God for the impacts we are able to make in the lives of these great ones. This is a generational assignment and together we shall build a functional society we can all be proud of.

Thank you.
